This picturesque island is rich in natural beauty. Fort Flagler State Park, Mystery Bay State Park and East Beach County Park are wonderful areas to experience majestic vistas and abundant wildlife. The center of this sleepy island community is the Nordland General Store. This nostalgic store carries everything from your morning latte to vintage toys. Canoe and Kayak rentals are also available. There is plenty to do on Marrowstone Island, from crabbing, clamming and fishing, to hiking or kite flying. The island offers two public boat launch areas, as well as two docks for temporary moorage.

You'll get plenty of opportunities to meet your neighbors through organizations such as the Nordland Garden Club, Friends of Fort Flagler and Marrowstone Island Community Association. Every year the Strawberry Festival, held at Fort Flagler, brings the islanders together for a picnic, games for the children and strawberry shortcake for all. There is even a polar bear dip on New Year's Day.

The island is conveniently accessed by a bridge to Indian Island and then a land bridge connecting the two islands. Marrowstone Island, WA is close to the services and shopping in Port Hadlock and only 20 minutesfrom the historic Victorian Seaport of Port Townsend.  The resort community of Port Ludlow, with its world class golf course, is only 15 minutes to the south. Continue south another 30 minutes to Silverdale, with its large shopping mall, Home Depot and Costco. The ferry to Seattle is only an hour's drive away.  Enjoy a day of shopping, museums, a ball game, or a concert.

The island and surrounding communities are serviced by a 45-bed hospital, air and land ambulances, 31 doctors covering 20 areas of medical practice, 15 dental specialists and a 92-bed nursing home.
